From
"Jimmy Kimmel Live" to "SNL's" "Waking Up With
Kimye," The Kanye West parodies keep coming, though we certainly hope this
one is received more warmly than Kimmel's.
Less than a
week after West premiered his buzz-worthy naked-Kim Kardashian-on-a-motorcycle
video for the "Yeezus" cut "Bound 2," actors James Franco
and Seth Rogen have put their own spin on the clip. Titled "Bound 3,"
the video follows the Kanye clip, almost exactly, with Franco playing 'Ye and
Rogen as his Kim. That means viewers get treated to a topless Rogen, back hair
and all. And yes, Franco and Rogen do make out.
Prior to the
video, the following message flashes onscreen: "While on the set of their
movie, 'The Interview,' James Franco & Seth Rogen felt inspired to recreate
their favorite new video. Shot. For. Shot."
Are they
trying to say something profound about the Kanye video, like its depiction of
women or use of technology? Was Kanye trying to say something profound (or
anything at all) in the first place? Are they just trying to have a laugh? Are
mens' tye-dye shirts making a comeback?
The original
video, directed by Nick Knight (who also worked "Black Skinhead"),
featured West straddling his fiancé as the two travelled through greenscreened
Arizona scenery via motorcycle.
